The success journey began in the year 2000 when Mr. Abdul Rahman MK Al Shahri started his small environmental consultancy (Al Kalthomi Environment Works) business in Dammam by providing top quality services with customer satisfaction.

Mr. Abdul Rahman Al- Kalthomi Al-Shahri has a BS degree in Environmental science (Environmental Health) and graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1979. He also has a diploma in Environmental science, from University of Oklahoma, in 1973-1974. Mr. Al-Shahri directs the company business in projects related to environmental consultation studies, conducts the company environmental liaison with national and local regulatory agencies, and conducts and manages environmental studies. He completed more than twenty years of a challenging work experience with Saudi Aramco. He was the Chief Environmental Affairs Division of Saudi Aramco (from 1987 to 1993) and then he was assigned as a Manager of industrial and Environmental Affairs (from 1993 to 1998).

His vision toward company growth and success in business moved him to next level and successfully obtained Certification from PME for disposal and treatment of hazardous and non- hazardous wastes in the Ghunan Environmental Center (GEC) in year 2000.The approach of marching ahead was his aim, he opened a new company’ Al- Kalthomi General Contracting’ in year 2000 to cater for industrial services.

The habit of never look back made him to acquire Mazaya Al Aamal in year 2013, now the group is able to provide various business segments by its own.

The group aim to consolidate KEW, KGC, GEC and Mazaya Al Aamal under one umbrella with brand name AKG.
